Outdoor guiding to me is a fun way of connecting people with nature and an ideal medium of environmental education and commmunication of sustainability. Guiding people in the wild and being a partner to experience a unique time safely is a challenging task. I enjoy both teaching skills of outdoor sports and wilderness survival, as well as learning from the characters and social interaction myself.

My guiding and training activities focus on skiing, mountaineering, climbing, wilderness survival and team skills, always integrating awareness raising for the environment. Apart from that I enjoy many other sports in nature, amongst my favourites are windsurfing, mountain biking and Telemark skiing.

A big part of guiding has been for Telemarkzone, for example in the Arctic of Spitsbergen, Kamchatka or the Alps. Telemarkzone is an international non-profit organisation in knowledge transfer, capacity building, product development and outreach in sustainable sport tourism development. See next seasons trips on >> www.telemarkzone.org.

My certifications include:
Guide for ski mountaineering of the German Alpine Association (DAV)
Professional ski instructor Alpine, Telemark and Nordic (staatlich geprüfter Skilehrer DSLV, DSV Landesskil., Swiss Snow Pro, PSIA America).
German hunting liscence.

I have been guiding for more than ten years on a professional basis (ski-) mountaineering trips to North and South America (such as the Alpamayo), the Arctic (first ascents and descents), Siberia (volcanoes in Kamchatka), in the European Alps (e.g. Haute Route and Mont Blanc) and other countries, for the German Alpine Association, the University of Freiburg, the school Schloss Salem, and Telemarkzone. I worked full time as a ski instructor in California and Canada and was a sponsored skier by Movement Skis, also being part of the German Demo Team Telemark for four years.
