Mountain-/Outdoor guiding and expedition leading to me is a fun way of connecting people with nature and an ideal medium of environmental education and commmunication of sustainability.
Guiding people in the wild and being a partner to experience a unique time safely is a challenging task. I enjoy both teaching skills of mountain- and outdoor sports and wilderness survival, as well as learning from the characters and social interaction myself.
My guiding and training activities focus on skiing, mountaineering, climbing, wilderness survival and scientific expeditions, integrating awareness raising for the environment on the real subject. Apart from that I enjoy many other sports in nature, amongst my favourites are windsurfing, mountain biking and Telemark skiing.
I have been guiding for more than ten years mountaineering and skiing trips in the Alps (such as Mont Blanc, Haute Route, Freeride camps in La Grave and Alagna), organizing and leading scientific expeditions
to the Andes in Peru, to Kamchatka in Siberia, to Iceland, Canada and Spitsbergen in the Arctic. I worked as a ski teacher, mountain guide and team trainer for two years on a professional basis in California and Canada while I was a sponsored freeskier by the Swiss company Movement Skis for five years, and member of the German Demo Team Telemark for four years.
A big part of guiding has been for the German Alpine Association, the University of Freiburg and for Telemarkzone, an international non-profit organisation in knowledge transfer, capacity building, product development and outreach in sustainable sport tourism development.
